How long will it take to build my home?

For most clients, the design process takes a month or two. Once design is complete, expect 7-9 months for construction. However, specialty selections and custom details may make the process longer.

How does the home building process work?

At Division One Homes, your custom home is built just for you. There are several steps in the process.

  • We review the topography, utilities, cost of permits, and size restrictions for your chosen home site.

  • We provide a realistic assessment of what you can achieve within your budget.

  • Our design team works with you to design your new home and budget for cabinetry, appliance packages, countertops, plumbing fixtures, lighting, and flooring.

  • We provide an all-inclusive quote for constructing your home.

  • You approve your House Plan and lock in the fixed price of your home. We’ll authorize the contract and collect a deposit.

  • Construction begins!

  • Our design team helps you shop for products and make final selections.

  • Midway through construction, attend a pre-drywall meeting and see the wiring and plumbing.

  • We deliver your new home with a walk-through and demonstration, so you’ll know how everything works.

Do I have to use one of your home plans?

Most clients choose one of our house plans and modify it to meet their personal needs.  We also custom design & build other plans. For ideas and inspiration, our home plans are the perfect place to start. Customizing an existing plan is faster, and offers tremendous cost savings.

How much will my custom home cost?

The homes we build typically fall between $600,000 and $2 Million and include high end custom finishes. Bring Division One Homes into the design process to ensure that your new home is designed for cost-efficient construction. Choose one of our home plans, or work with an architect.

Do I need a Real Estate Agent to build a new home?

While a real estate agent is not required, if you are working with an agent be sure to bring them along on your first visit. If you’re a licensed Realtor and would like to discuss what Division One Homes can do for your clients, we’d love to hear from you.

Will I be able to customize my new home?

We’re a custom builder, so you’ll be able to choose everything! Cabinetry, Countertops, Flooring, Plumbing Fixtures, Lighting Fixtures, Appliances, Shelving, Bath Fittings, Paint Colors, Landscaping and exterior design details.  Our in-house or preferred third party Design Team will guide you so it doesn’t feel overwhelming.

I don’t have a home site, can you help me find one?

Your new home’s location must be final before a builder can quote the cost of construction. We have trusted relationships in the real-estate community who will be happy to find the perfect site for your home. Division One Homes makes choosing your homesite easier with our complimentary site visit.

Will Division One Homes prepare my home site before construction?

Yes, our team will handle lot preparation.
